Why buy a home?
Although the answer to this question may seem obvious the truth is that there are often a very diverse range of underlying answers. The simple answer is shelter and storage, or what we call simply a place to live. But could not such a thing be rented? And therein lies the ulterior motives. Building equity, peace of mind, control, tax incentives, and the list goes on...and so to reiterate the question: Why buy a home? Ask yourself this and come up with the reasons you feel are important to you before you look at homes. This will help guide your selection and give focus to you decisions. |

How do I find a home?
Starting your search for a home is easy. Finding the perfect home is not. Before you reach for the local paper or peruse sites online, it may be helpful to write out a list of criteria you want in a new home. Use the criteria to guide your search. And don't get too specific too soon. Often people's criteria will change once they see what's available. For instance, you may think 4 bedrooms is essential but later decide that 3 bedrooms is just fine if accompanied by a finished basement. Also remember to view homes with what is possible and not always by what is there. The perfect home may simply need some modification! So search with an open mind, narrow the search down with your criteria, and lastly, have fun! Buying a new home is about new beginnings and should be enjoyed! |
